Units designated as Mobile Messenger units will only be able to view a limited number of query-only message format screens. The exact transactions available to the Mobile Messenger units are configurable.

Technical

CPI has developed the capability for an individual message screen to use a font size other than the default size. This allows for the development of simple transaction screens with very large text fields and buttons, which are perfectly suited to the mobile environment. One of the core features of the Messenger solution that differentiates it from competing products is the automatic scalability of message forms when users change the application font size setting. The screen shot below shows the interface used to accomplish this change.

This ability is key to mobile environments where an officer has a laptop in his or her squad car. In this scenario, the user must pay more attention to driving than to reading small text on a computer display. In the mobile version of Messenger this capability is utilized to increase the default text size for all application fonts. This allows for the development of simple transaction screens with very large text fields and buttons, which are perfectly suited to the mobile environment. below screen shot shows an example of this capability. The mobile RQ screen is shown above a normal RQ screen.
