AIC and CPI
Successfully Deliver New Crime Information System
for the State of Colorado
MINNEAPOLIS — July 22, 2010 — Analysts International Corporation (AIC) (Nasdaq: ANLY), a leading systems integrator for State and Local Government, and Computer Projects of Illinois, Inc. (CPI), a leader in information-sharing software systems for the law enforcement community, today announced that in partnership with the Colorado Department of Public Safety, they have successfully delivered a new crime information system designed to quickly and reliably provide law enforcement officers with access to critical criminal justice information across the State.
The new Colorado Crime Information System was designed by AIC, in collaboration with CPI, and integrates CPI’s OpenFox® Product Suite within a service-oriented architecture, leveraging national standards such as the Justice Reference Architecture (JRA) and the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM). It replaces a 15-year-old system that was unreliable and challenging to maintain.
“Our goal was to implement a new system in a centralized technology environment that would enable the State of Colorado to more efficiently and effectively share critical criminal justice information statewide,” said Skip Fogus, Managing Director, AIC’s Government Solutions Practice. “We are thrilled to have the State up and running on state-of-the-art technology that can better support its 14,000 users and more than seven million transactions a week.”
“The new crime information system represents a significant step forward for the State of Colorado in helping ensure the safety of its law enforcement and the general public,” said Karl Wilmes, Deputy Director, Colorado’s Criminal Bureau of Investigation. “We are extremely pleased with the results of this project and expect that this new system will serve our criminal justice partners and citizens of Colorado for many years to come.”
“There has not been an implementation of this size and complexity, in which all components went live the same day, anywhere else in the U.S. to date,” said Lorne Sawatzky, President of CPI. “This project involved replacing the Colorado Department of Public Safety’s Message Switching system, its Hot Files and Criminal History systems and its legacy workstation software, in addition to creating numerous customized databases and web services interfaces, reports and processes. During the first month of operation, the new system successfully processed nearly 29 million messages with no unscheduled downtime.”
“Together with CPI, the Colorado Department of Public Safety and Criminal Bureau of Investigation and other participating partners, we have successfully delivered a platform with improved system and data integrity and provided Colorado with the agility to respond to change,” concluded Fogus.
