CPI Successfully Implements INTERPOL Gun Queries

Computer Projects of Illinois (CPI) successfully implemented the Interpol gun query transactions IGQ/FGQ to the INTERPOL Washington’s OpenFox® Message Switching system.  With these changes members of NLETS (The International Justice and Public Safety Network) across the nation will have access to INTERPOL’s IARMS data base of internationally lost/stolen/trafficked firearms.

INTERPOL, a customer since 2002, with the installation of the OpenFox® Message Switching system which provides critical information exchanges for law enforcement.  Public safety is now further enhanced with the additional capability to access the IARMS data base. The first law enforcement agency to make the initial query was the Naval Criminal Investigative Services (NCIS) also a CPI client.  Funding of this these programming changes came from a grant provided by the NLETS Brody Assistance Fund.
