Mississippi is now officially on Switch 8.04.0 and OpenFox Catalyst 1.1.0.
CPI OpenFox successfully completed the NCIC N3G XML Framework project for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety. The project modernized the agency’s OpenFox Message Switch and NCIC interface to support the National Crime Information Center’s Third Generation (N3G) National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) XML standards.
CPI implemented a secure N3G web-service interface and configured authentication using Transport Layer Security with mutual authentication. The completed work enabled the OpenFox environment to process both legacy, dot-delimited NCIC transactions and NIEM XML transactions through the appropriate connections.
The project also included configuring the OpenFox Message Switch framework, supporting the transformation of legacy transaction formats into OpenFox Markup Language and then into NCIC NIEM XML. CPI installed standard NCIC input, output, and presentation stylesheets to support compliant processing and presentation of NCIC responses.
As part of the implementation, CPI configured, tested, and validated in-scope NCIC message keys for Gun File, Wanted Person File, and Missing Person File transactions. The work included integration testing to confirm that text and OpenFox Markup Language inputs produced NCIC NIEM XML output through the NCIC web service.
CPI completed site-specific discovery and documentation, confirmed applicable prerequisites, and assessed variances between the project’s baseline NCIC NIEM Infrastructure Exchange Package and the version available during discovery. CPI also updated OpenFox user-application configurations to support N3G processing, including the availability of XML processing tables, third-party indicators, and file-type options.
The project was completed without changing the existing hardware platform or adding third-party products.
