CPI OpenFox has successfully installed the OpenFox® MessengerNow web application for the New Mexico Department of Public Safety (NMDPS).
CPI enhanced NMDPS’s existing OpenFox systems to implement the OpenFox MessengerNow application. This work included system configuration, networking, security, database setup, Metadata Agent deployment, Configurator changes, testing, and training. As a result, New Mexico law enforcement now has full front-end capabilities on both workstations and mobile devices.
MessengerNow Web Application Revolutionizes Law Enforcement Communication
The law enforcement community in New Mexico is poised to benefit from a groundbreaking innovation with the launch of OpenFox® MessengerNow, a cutting-edge web application designed to streamline communication and enhance operational efficiency. Built on the robust OpenFox Web Application framework, MessengerNow delivers a user-friendly interface and a suite of features tailored to meet the high-speed demands of police dispatch environments and field officers.
Seamless Accessibility Across Devices
MessengerNow is compatible with desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones, ensuring secure access across a wide range of devices. It supports the latest versions of commonly used web browsers, making it a versatile tool for law enforcement professionals in the field or at a workstation.
Enhanced User Experience
Inspired by the familiar design of email platforms, MessengerNow offers an intuitive interface that minimizes training time for new users. The application features a mailbox system that securely stores inbox messages, sent messages, drafts, templates, user preferences, and favorite forms—all immediately accessible upon login.
Time-Saving Features for Law Enforcement
MessengerNow is engineered to save time in critical situations. Its message-casting feature allows users to quickly copy information from received messages into new transactions, such as confirming NCIC hits or sending queries. The application also supports draft messages and templates, enabling users to save partially completed forms for later use and further improving efficiency.
Advanced Security and Compliance
Security is a top priority for MessengerNow. The application uses FIPS-certified encryption standards, ensuring that all attachments and communications comply with CJIS requirements. This enables agencies to securely share sensitive files—such as photographs and warrants—without risking data breaches.
Integrated Code Lists and Image Support
MessengerNow provides direct access to NCIC code lists within transaction forms, enabling users to search for and select codes by description quickly. The application also supports inline image display, enabling users to view, save, and print images received from NCIC, Nlets, and other databases.
Customizable and Scalable
Recognizing the diverse needs of law enforcement agencies, MessengerNow offers extensive customization options. Users can tailor the application to their specific workflows, ensuring optimal performance, usability, and scalability as agency requirements evolve.
A Game-Changer for Law Enforcement
With its innovative features, robust security, and user-friendly design, OpenFox MessengerNow is poised to transform how law enforcement agencies communicate and manage critical information. By combining speed, efficiency, and reliability, MessengerNow empowers officers to focus on their primary mission: keeping communities safe.
