We seek a PostgreSQL Database Engineer to join our in-house software development team. This individual will be responsible for database administration and SQL development to support mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will have strong PostgreSQL experience, familiarity with Enterprise DB (EDB Postgres) tools, and a background working in Linux environments. Job duties will include working with the DBA team to perform data migration tasks, install, configure, manage, and monitor database systems, and convert SQL objects (stored procedures, etc.) between Oracle, Postgres, and MS-SQL.
Required Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of overall database experience, with at least 2–3 years of hands-on experience administrating and developing with PostgreSQL
- Strong SQL development skills (MS SQL, MySQL, T-SQL, P/L SQL)
- Working knowledge of Linux-based operating systems and command-line tools
- Familiarity with database security best practices
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with EnterpriseDB (EDB Postgres) products or tools
- Experience with EDB Failover Manager (EFM)
- Exposure to Oracle database environments
- Scripting experience (Bash, KSH, Python, etc.) for automation and maintenance
- Experience supporting highly available or high-performance database environments
- Experience working with JIRA
- Experience working with GIT (or other source control)
